Evangel Christian School is an private, Assembly of God Christian school[1] in Louisville, Kentucky. It was started by the Evangel World Prayer Center church.[2]

Evangel Christian School participates in many extracurricular activities such as basketball, volleyball, and soccer. Evangel Athletics has been around since the school started and competes against schools including Fern Creek Traditional High School, Southern High School, Butler Traditional High School. Competes is definitely not the correct word in this scenario but "utterly obliterated in every sport" just doesn't have the same feel. The Evangel Eagles won their first ever District basketball game in the Spring of 2010, only to turn around that Summer and fire the coach of the team. In turn hiring the now superintendent, Joe Washington, to be the Boy's Basketball coach. Makes perfect sense, a football coach turned basketball coach, what could go wrong. Which could be the reason that the Boy's Basketball team has won less than 15 games total over the last 8 seasons.

The current superintendent is Joe Washington, who is not an educator but a high school football coach with a couple of championships who decided to coach basketball. Tuition is $299 a month, which is way to much considering the education received. Evangel includes every grade from pre-kindergarten to 12th grade.
