History

European Standard School was set up in 2001 in response to the need for a school using English as the medium of instruction but emphasizing equal proficiency in Bengali. The school was founded by a team of five members who form the Board of Management. They are Nurul Islam, Abdullah, Ranadev Dasgupta and Morshedul Islam. The five members serve as principals in the five units of ESS.

The school operates under the banner of a limited company, European Scholastic Systems (ESS) Ltd, and each member of the Board of Management serves as a Director in the company.[1]

In 2006, the club won the "Notre Dame National Debating Championship (NDDC)" and became runners-up in the "Elate Fervor Accord (EFA)" tournament. In early 2007, the team reached the semifinals of the third "BDC Pre-worlds".[3]
