The European Journal of Personality is the official bimonthly academic journal of the European Association of Personality Psychology covering research on personality, published by Wiley in the United States. According to the 2017 Journal Citation Reports, its impact factor is 3.493 ranking it 6th of 64 journals in the category "social psychology". The journal publishes empirical and theoretical papers on personality psychology and reflects current personality psychology including human individuality in cognitive processes, emotional and motivational functioning, and the physiological and genetic underpinnings of these differences. Also covered are individual differences in personality structure and dynamics, intelligence, and development. It is abstracted in many of the leading abstracting services including Psychological Abstracts/PsycINFO, Social Sciences Citation Index, and Web of Science.

The journal has shifted to the registered report format: “In a registered report, authors create a study proposal that includes theoretical and empirical background, research questions/hypotheses, and pilot data (if available). Upon submission, this proposal will then be reviewed prior to data collection, and if accepted, the paper resulting from this peer-reviewed procedure will be published, regardless of the study outcomes.”[1]
