Eucalyptus pileata, commonly known as the Ravensthorpe mallee[1] or the capped mallee, is a mallee that is native to South Australia and Western Australia.[2][3]

The mallee typically grows to a height of 8 metres (26 ft) and has smooth grey or brown over light grey or cream bark. It blooms between February to May or September to October producing white flowers.[2]

In Western Australia it is found on sand plains and amongst rocky outcrops in the Wheatbelt and Goldfields-Esperance regions where it grows in sandy-loamy soils over granite or ironstone.
