eTail Conferences is a series of annual business conferences held globally for senior level e-commerce professionals. eTail events feature lectures, panel discussions, workshops, meetings, interactive roundtable discussions, case study presentations, and Q&A sessions.

eTail conferences are organized by Worldwide Business Research LLC (WBR), a conference production company that runs over 80 industry conferences and networking events worldwide.

The term Etail is a sub-category of eCommerce (electronic commerce) that deals with online retail. Etail is a form of electronic commerce which allows consumers to directly buy physical goods or services from a seller online.

History

WBR hosted the first eTail conference in New York City in 1999. WBR, a subsidiary of the PLS Group, organizes business conferences internationally.

eTail has been a leading industry event since 1999 for senior-level Retail marketing and E-Commerce executives in the U.S. (East and West) as well as from around the world.[1]

The attendance at the first eTail conference impelled WBR to start another eTail conference in the Western United States, and as of 2016, the brand has expanded to 10 eTail conferences worldwide.

WBR did not coin the word e-tail or its variant, etail. E-tail is a portmanteau of the words electronic and retail (cf. email). The earliest documented use of this word as a common noun occurred in 1995.[2]
