Erywan Yusof (Malay: Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohammad Yusof) is a Bruneian politician and diplomat. He is the incumbent Second Minister of Foreign Affairs & Trade since a Cabinet re-shuffle in January 2018.[1]

Education

Erywan entered University of Leeds where he graduated with a Combined Degree with Honours in Genetics and Biophysics in 1988.[2] In 1991, he completed his Master of Science in Genetics and its Applications from University College Swansea, Wales, United Kingdom.[2]

Government service

Erywan began his civil service as a Veterinary Chemist in the Ministry of Industry & Primary Resources in 1989.[2] In 1991, he was appointed as Head of Unit for the Miscellaneous Crop Unit. In 1994, he undertook duties on ASEAN Agriculture Matters and became the focal point for ASEAN Ministers on Agriculture and Forestry (AMAF) Meetings.[2]

Erywan was transferred to the Department of International Trade at Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade in 2005.[2]

By the consent of His Majesty Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, Erywan was promoted to Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade in January 2008.[2]

In October 2015, by command of His Majesty, Erywan was appointed as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs & Trade.[2]
