Enric Gallego Puigsech (born 12 September 1986) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays for Extremadura UD as a striker.
Club career
Born in Barcelona, Catalonia, Gallego made his senior debut with UD Buen Pastor in the 2006–07 season, in the regional leagues. In January 2009 he joined Tercera División side CE Premià, after a prolific spell at Alzamora CF.[1][2]
In June 2009, Gallego signed for RCD Espanyol and was immediately assigned to the reserves in Segunda División B. After featuring sparingly, he moved to UE Cornellà in the fourth division, scoring five goals in a 6–0 away routing of FC Ascó on 31 October 2010;[3] he remained an instrumental unit in the following campaigns as his side missed out promotion in 2013.[1]
On 8 July 2013, Gallego agreed to a contract with third division side CF Badalona, club he already represented as a youth.[4] The following 25 June, he moved to fellow league team UE Olot,[5] but scored only two goals for both teams together before moving back to Cornellà on 21 January 2015.[6]
On 2 January 2018, Gallego joined Extremadura UD still in the third division,[7] after the club triggered his € 200,000 release clause.[8] He scored 28 goals during the campaign for both Extremadura and Cornellà, and achieved promotion to Segunda División.
Gallego made his professional debut at the age of 31 on 24 August 2018, starting in a 0–1 home loss against Deportivo de La Coruña.[9] He scored his first goal in the category on 9 September, netting his team's only in a 1–3 home loss against Granada CF.
On 22 September 2018, Gallego scored a hat-trick in a 4–1 away routing of CF Rayo Majadahonda.[10]
