Eliza Jane Scanlen (born 6 January, 1999) is an Australian actress. She is known for her role as Amma Crellin in the HBO miniseries Sharp Objects. Her performance was critically acclaimed.
Early life
Scanlen was born in Sydney, Australia, one of twins.[1] She learned the piano when she was about 7 years old, but stopped when she was 13 years old. In preparation for her role as Beth in the screen adaptation of Little Women (2019), she started practicing the piano again.[2]
Career
In high school, Scanlen landed a role on Home and Away, an Australian television soap opera that launched stars like Naomi Watts, Chris Hemsworth and Isla Fisher.
Scanlen's first notable role was in Sharp Objects, alongside Amy Adams.
