Elijah Naboth Staniforth (30 August 1790 - 30 November 1842) was a British Esquire and sickle smith from the village of Mosborough in Eckington, Derbyshire.[1]
He is most notable for building Mosborough Hill House.
Early Life
Elijah was baptised on 30 August 1790 at St Peter and St Paul's Church, Eckington. His father Thomas Staniforth was a local sicklesmith, his mother was Mary (nee Bayley).[2]
On 25 December 1816 he married his first cousin Ann Staniforth. Ann was the daughter of William Staniforth, Thomas' uncle. William was a notable grocer in Sheffield.
He died on 30 November 1842 at his home in Mosborough.
