Elephant is a strategic design & innovation consultancy based in Pune, India. The company helps creating and developing brands, products and services for leading Indian & multinational entities.

Elephant was formed in 1989 by graduates from National Institute of Design and is headed by Ashwini Deshpande, Ashish Deshpande and Partho Guha. Ashish Deshpande is also President, Association of Designers of India.

Ashwini Deshpande has been consistently recognised among Impact 50 Most Influential Women in Media, Advertising & Marketing since 2015[1][2]. She also writes a column on Design in a regional newspaper called Sakal.

Elephant Founders have been on international juries such as Cannes Lions[3][4], Spikes Asia, Design for Asia[5][6] and have spoken at several international design conferences.

The firm employs approximately 60 people in the disciplines of Brand & Design Strategy, Design Research, Communication Design, Industrial Design, Environmental Design, Packaging, UI & UX.

Elephant has worked on multi-disciplinary projects across industry sectors. Select clients include Axis Bank, Bajaj Auto, Britannia, Indian Super League, Procter & Gamble, Tata Consultancy Services, Unilever, Paper Boat, Symphony, ICICI Bank etc.

Elephant team worked on the projects of creating the identity, look and livery for Commonwealth Youth Games held in Pune in 2008[7].

Recognition for Elephant include Worldstar[8][9] & AsiaStar Awards[10] for Packaging Excellence, Innovative Product Design award by Plastindia Foundation[11] and 8 ReBrand 100 Awards[12], A'Design Awards[13][14], CII Design Excellence Awards[15], India Story Award etc.

In 2014 and again in 2017, Elephant was ranked as 'No 1 Design Agency' in India by The Economic Times Brand Equity Agency Reckoner[16].

In 2018, Elephant was awarded as 'Design House of The Year' by Lexus Design Awards India[17][18].

Elephant is a member of The Design Alliance, a consortium of design consultancies across 13 Asian countries/regions[19][20].

Practitioners at the company have been featured in BBC[21], CNBC, The Economic Times etc[22][23].
