Eleanor (singer)

Eleanor (b. Eleanor Acedemia on August 13, 1958 in Los Angeles California) is a dance music singer and producer.[1][2]

Career

Academia released her debut album entitled "Jungle Wave" in 1987 upon Columbia Records. Also lending background vocals upon this album was singer Maurice White. From the LP the 1988 single "Adventure" rose to number one upon the Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart. Academia also released another album being Global Conversations upon Columbia.[2][1][3][4]

She would later launch her own record label known as Black Swan Records. Academia went on to release upon this label her third album being Oracle of the Black Swan. She has also gone on to create, produce and host an indie radio show titled The LA Music Pipeline where she showcases independent artists.[2]

Personal life

Academia is of Filipino Hawaiian descent.[2]
