Eldar Ćivić (Bosnian pronunciation: [ěldar tɕîːʋitɕ]; born 28 May 1996) is a Bosnian professional footballer who plays as a left back for Czech First League club Sparta Prague and the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.

Ćivić started his professional career at Slovácko, before joining Sparta Prague in 2017. In 2018 he had a loan spell with Spartak Trnava.

A former youth international for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ćivić made his senior international debut in 2018.

Club career

Early career

Ćivić began his football career at Sloboda Tuzla, before moving to Slovácko in 2012.[2] On 14 March 2015, he made his professional debut in a game against Příbram.[3] More than a year later, on 2 April 2016, Ćivić scored his first goal as a professional.[4]

Sparta Prague

In May 2017, Ćivić was transferred to Sparta Prague and signed a four-year contract.[5] He made his competitive debut for the club on 27 July, in a UEFA Europa League qualifier against Red Star Belgrade.[6] Three days later, he made his league debut in a game against Bohemians 1905, which ended in a 1–1 draw.[7]

Due to lack of playing time, in February 2018, Ćivić was loaned to Spartak Trnava for the remainder of season.[8]

International career

Ćivić has represented several Bosnia and Herzegovina's youth categories throughout the years. He also served as vice-captain of the under-21 team under coach Vinko Marinović.[9]

He received his first senior call-up in May 2018, for friendly games against Montenegro and South Korea.[10] Ćivić debuted in a comfortable 3–1 victory over latter on 1 June 2018 in Jeonju.[11]
