Elcho Priory

Elcho Priory was a Cistercian Priory four miles south-east of Perth, Scotland founded in the 13th century. In October 1346, Raghnall Mac Ruaidhrí was assassinated along with eight of his men at Elcho Nunnery as the result of a quarrel with Uilleam III, Earl of Ross. Thomas Wyndham burnt the nunnery on 29 December 1547.[1] During the Scottish Reformation, the nunnery was attacked by Reformers on 26 September 1559 and drove out the nuns and completely destroyed their house.
