El Shorouk Academy is a private educational academy, officially licensed by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, located in El Shorouk, Cairo, Egypt. It has been operating since 1995.[1]

Institutes

The Engineering Institute has programs in architecture, chemical engineering, civil engineering, biomedical engineering, and electrical and electronic engineering.[2]

The Computer & Information Technology institute has programs in computer science, information systems and business administration.[3]

The Media institute has programs in news production, media production and media marketing.[4]

Student protests

In May 2013, around 500 students staged a sit-in after a first year engineering student, Mohamed Mamdouh El-Toukhi, died on May 2 after academy doctors misdiagnosed him.[5]
