El Moro Canyon virus (EMCV) is a single-stranded, negative sense RNA virus of the orthohantavirus genus. It is a caustive agent of Hantavirus pulmonary syndrome (HPS).[1]
Natural reservoir
EMCV was isolated from western harvest mice (Reithrodontomys megalotis), in El Moro Canyon in southeastern Colorado in 1995.
