Ekta Bhyan (born 1985) is a para athlete who represents India in the Women's club and discus throw event.[1][2] She won the Gold medal in this event at the recent National Para Athletics Championships in Panchkula 2018.[3] She has also represented India at the 2017 IPC World Para Athletics Championships in London. She is supported by the GoSports Foundation through the Para Champions Programme.

Early Life

Bhyan was born in 1985 in Hissar, Haryana to a retired district horticulture officer Baljeet Bhyan. She has two siblings.[4]

Education

Bhyan completed her graduation in English from Hissar. She appeared for the Haryana Civil Services in 2009 and 2011. In 2011, she made through and got employed as an employment officer.[4]

Career

Bhyan took up sports after an accident and was coached by Amit Saroha in club and discus throw. [2]She represented India at the 2017 IPC Para Athletics World Championships. She won a Gold medal in the club and discus throw event at the National Para Athletics Championships in Panchkula 2018.

Bhyan works as an employment officer with the Haryana Government.[1]
