Egbema tribe

The Egbema tribe of the Ijaw people lives to the west of the Benin River in northern Delta State, Nigeria. The town of Ofiniama is the seat of the Egbema.

The Egbema have a strong Ijaw cultural identity, despite their location on the western fringe of Ijawland. The clan traces its origins to several migrations from the Mein, Iduwini, and Ekeremor tribes over the past few hundred years.[1]
