Efthimis Koulouris (Greek: Ευθύμης Κουλούρης, born 6 March 1996 in Skydra) is a Greek professional footballer who plays for Atromitos on loan from PAOK as a striker.[1]

Club career

Career

Just before his 17th birthday,he scored the winning goal that gave PAOK the Super League U17 title. A year later, he broke Stefanos Athanasiadis' goalscoring record in the U20s. He also celebrated another title with them. His tally stopped at 25, as he then joined the senior team. On 13 February 2014 Koulouris made his debut with PAOK in the Greek Football Cup against Apollon Smyrni; he managed to score two goals. An impressive start for one of Greece's greatest talents.[2] During the 2013–2014 season he made his league debut against Asteras Tripoli.[3]

In summer 2015, he signed a year contract with Cypriot First Division club Anorthosis, on loan from PAOK. On 28 October 2015, the 19 years' old midfielder rediscovered his goalscoring touch in style as he scored six for Cypriot Cup in Anorthosis's 9-0 hammering of Elpida Xylofagou F.C. giving also one assist, sending a clear messages in his coach André Paus. It was a night that Koulouris would never forget when he got his first goals for his club, specifically six goals in one match with his first coming from the penalty spot in the 22nd minute, nine minutes after Andreas Avraam opened the score for Anorthosis. Three minutes later Koulouris got his second, giving his team a three-goal advantage and putting the game beyond the visitors' reach. Koulouris completed his hat-trick five minutes into the second half and from then on the home team took their foot off the pedal for almost 20 minutes and added another three goals to his tally in the 73rd, 76th and 87th minute of the game.[4] On 1 November 2015, he scored his first goal in the Cypriot First Division in a 2-1 away win against Pafos.[5][6] On 6 January 2016, he opened the score in a 2-1 home win against Anagennisi Deryneia for the 1st leg of the 2nd round of Cypriot Cup. He finished the season having 6 goals in Cypriot First Division and 13 goals in all competitions.

He returned to PAOK for the 2016–2017 season. On 19 September 2016, he netted both goals in a victorious 2–1 away win against Asteras Tripoli.[7] He was elected MVP of the game. Koulouris made his most mature season of his career (32 appearances in all competitions), with yet another special accolade, as he earned teammates' appreciation as he voted Players' Younger Player of the Year.[8]

On September 29, 2017, Koulouris agreed to a contract extension with PAOK, until the summer of 2021.[9] On 10 December 2017, he scored in a thriumphic 4-0 home win game against rivals Panathinaikos.[10] On 8 February 2018, he scored in a comfortable 3-1 away Greek Cup win against Atromitos helping his club to be promoted to semi-finals. It was his first goal for the 2017-18 Greek Football Cup.[11]

On 4 July 2018, Atromitos and PAOK agreed terms for the loan move of Koulouris to the club, until the summer of 2019.[12] On 26 July 2018, in his first official game, he scored against Dynamo Brest in a UEFA Europa Leafue 2nd qualifying round - 1st Leg with a terrible shot outside the area sent the ball to the netting reducing to 4-3 keeping his club's hope for next round.[13] On 25 August 2018, in his first Super League game for the 2018-19 season, he scored a brace sealing a 2-1 away win against rivals Panetolikos F.C. Koulouris, is expected to provide the driving force for Atromitos to kick on after last season’s great success of a fourth-placed finish.[14] On 16 September 2018 Koulouris scored the only goal of the game as Atromitos continued their promising start to the season with a 1-0 home win over 10-man Lamia at the Peristeri Municipal Stadium.[15] On 25 September 2018, he scored in a 2-1 home loss Greek Cup game against PAS Giannina. On 7 October 2018, he scored with a header sealing a 1-0 home win game against PAS Giannina. [16]

International career

On 16 March 2018, he was called in the Greek national team from Michael Skibbe for the friendly match against Switzerland on 23 March 2018. On 23 March 2018, he made his debut with the Greek national team in a 1-0 home loss against Switzerland as a late substitute.
