The Edonis is a supercar created by Italian automobile manufacturer B Engineering and designed by Nicola Materazzi.
The Edonis is based on the Bugatti EB110 Super Sport, sharing the Bugatti's carbon-fiber chassis, but having had both the interior and exterior of the car redesigned.[1] B Engineering planned to build 21 vehicles from leftover Bugatti chassis, originally built by Aérospatiale, with an expected price of around €760,000.
B Engineering chose to build 21 examples because it was the first car of the 21st century.
The Edonis appeared in the video game Test Drive Unlimited as a downloadable car.
On January 24, 2018, it was announced that the Edonis project had been taken over by Las Vegas-based automotive company Casil motors, previously known as PSC Motors. The project will be completed with the help of B Engineering, with the promise of 15 examples being produced and sold to the public using original Bugatti EB110 chassis.[2] The vehicle will start at $849,190. The new Edonis SP-110 will use most of the upgrades that the original Edonis received in 2001, with the exception of a newly designed body kit offered by Casil Motors called the "Rinascita Aero Package".[3]
Performance
The Edonis is powered by a modified 3.5 liter Bugatti quad turbocharged V12 engine which has had its displacement increased from 3500 cc to 3760 cc. The original four small IHI turbochargers which came on the engine were replaced by two larger units from the same manufacturer,[1]increasing power from 610 PS (449 kW; 602 hp) and 650 N⋅m (479 lb⋅ft) of torque to 680 PS (500 kW; 671 hp) at 8000 rpm and 735 N⋅m (542 lb⋅ft).
In addition, the 4WD triple-differential drivetrain from the original Bugatti was replaced with a more lightweight RWD transaxle. These modifications gave the Edonis a power-to-weight ratio of 480 bhp/ton and an engine specific power output of 181 bhp/liter. The Edonis also claimed a top speed of 365 km/h (227 mph), with 0-100 km/h (0-62 mp/h) taking 3.9 seconds.
