East Lyme High School is a 9-12 high school in the Flanders Village region of East Lyme, Connecticut, United States. It is operated by East Lyme Public Schools. Students from the town of Salem, Connecticut in grades 9 through 12 attend high school at East Lyme (as they have no high school of their own); this will be the case until at least 2016 when the current co-op agreement between the two towns expires.
Facilities
Inside the school, there are two gyms- one wood floor gym known as the north gym, and an older rubber floored gym known as the south gym. Additionally, there is a small weightlifting gym, which is available for public use. There is also the aquatic and events center attached to the school which has a full-size indoor pool with lanes and diving boards that is open to the public year round.
Surrounding the perimeter of the school are multiple athletic facilities which includes a gated 400-meter rubber track that surrounds a turf field. The field has lines for sports such as soccer, field hockey, football, and lacrosse. It is utilized for both students and the general public throughout the year. Next to this is a baseball field with new dugouts for both the home and away teams. Situated to the side of the school are 3 sets of tennis courts with 24-hour manual lighting. Behind the school are two grass fields - one for soccer and one for field hockey- and a full-sized softball field. Back behind all of this are cleared trails through forested areas.
The school also has two full sized music rooms, each equipped with risers for performers, multiple practice pianos and computers, and percussion instruments. There is also a full-sized auditorium with lighting, sound booth and additional closets for prop and costume storage. In the back hallways on the first floor known as the "A-wing", there are multiple art rooms and creative spaces.
There are workshops for classes such as CAD, engineering and woodwork and classrooms with two-way mirrors and learning spaces. Culinary classes are also offered in a room that has a fully equipped kitchen space.
