E. K. Aboobacker Musliyar (also called Shamsul Ulama, "the sun of the scholars") was a Sunni Muslim scholar and religious leader from Kerala, South India.[1]

He was the General Secretary of Samastha Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulama, the largest Muslim organization in Kerala, for forty years until his death in 1996. Birth He was born in Parambil Kadavil in Kozhikode District in 1914 as the son of Koyakutty Musliyar and Fathima Beevi, who has his roots in Yemen. [1] E.K Abū Bakar Musliyar, done his studies in Vellore Baqiyat Swalihath, and Joined as a Lecturer in the same College after the studies. In 1948 he left Baqiyath due to health issues, and served as Mudarris in the Quwwathul Islam Arabic College, Taliparambu and Parakadavu Juma Masjid. [1] He also served as Principal of the Pattikad Jamia Nooriyya Arabic College and Nandi Darussalam College. E.K Aboobacker Musliyar was a multilingual scholar. He was well versed in languages Malayalam, English, Arabic, Urdu, Tamil, Parsi as well as Suriyani. Several articles have been written by him in the various journals. He was the first ever scholar to give Fatwa on Qadianism that they are not Muslims.[2]
