History
The program was first aired by All India Radio on 23 September 1976 on the holy day of Mahalaya. That year the program was replaced with the program Mahisasuramardini narrated by Birendra Krishna Bhadra. But it was Flop, and was criticized a lot. Thereafter the program was scheduled to be aired on the day of Durga Mahasashthi (seven days after Mahalaya).
