Douglas Irving Hodgkin is an American political scientist and author who, after teaching for 34 years, remains a professor emeritus of politics at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine.
Biography
Hodgkin was born in Lewiston, Maine.[1] Hodgkin received his B.A. from Yale University and his M.A. and Ph.D from Duke University. Hodgkin taught for 34 years at Bates, retired in 2000, and remains a professor emeritus.[2][3]
Hodgkin published numerous articles and books about political topics, especially New England politics. In 2005, he published Fractured Family, a short book on the Maine courts.[4]
He was active with the Republican Party in Maine and ran for political office several times as a Republican.[5][6]
