Ordained to the priesthood in Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pocatière on May 20, 1972, Moreau was named bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Rouyn-Noranda, Canada on November 30, 2001.[1]
Moreau petitioned Pope Francis to allow Sister Pierrette Thiffault of Témiscamingue to officiate in wedding, which signals for some of change on ordination of women as priests.[2]
