Amandeep Singh, also known by his stage name Djay Adx[1] and previously known as Adx, is an Indian hip-hop producer and rap artist from New Delhi. He is best known for his role in #HipHopIsHipHop,[2] a hip hop version of "We Are the World", a charity single by the supergroup United Support of Artists (USA). He has been part of the Indian music industry for more than a decade. He is a trained DJ, and he completed his training at the Midnight Blues Camp. He is also one of the first Indian DJs to be certified by Japanese music equipment brand Pioneer Corporation. He is a certified music production professional by the BeatFactory Academy. Adx specializes in producing urban desi music. He is also the owner of India’s first desi hip-hop crew, Nau Sau Bai[3][4] (aka 922) who had a track played on Indian mainstream television channels followed by a full length interview on PTC Punjabi and BBC Asian Network.[5]

Lacking the support of his family, Adx began his career as a DJ by playing at private parties and clubs, and started making bootleg recordings in the early 2000s. After realizing that there was too much competition in the DJing field, he took his musical passion and learned music production and how to make mainstream music.

2008-09

While DJing at a club, Adx met King-P, who was a promoter and wanted to form a group of Indian rappers and Hip-Hop DJ's. Adx and King-P created a group called Hip-Hop Mafiaz, which included: Adx, Bir, Golu, Ikka, JB, Max (now Raftaar), Nifty, O-Positive, DJ Notorious Sid, and King-P. The group was later renamed D-Soldierz. After hosting numerous Hip-Hop events and song recordings, D-Soldierz disbanded due to financial issues.

2009-12

After leaving D-Soldierz, Adx attended the BeatFactory Academy to increase his skills as a music producer. Afterwards, he formed Nau Sau Bai with ex-D-Soldierz members Ikka and JB. After recording their first studio track, "Tumbi Ridin Gangstas", 922 (aka Nau Sau Bai) went on to be signed by Gaurav Dayal, the owner of BeatFactory Academy and BeatFactory Music. They were later featured on Universal Music India's album #1s Sher-E-Punjabi[6] on a track titled "Sher-E-Punjab", along with Bollywood singer Mika Singh. Later, 922 released their self-titled track, called "Nau Sau Bai Anthem", on Universal Music India's first Hip-Hop mixtape, titled Desi Hustle.[7] The track was reportedly viral, online as well as on Indian mainstream music channels. The group was invited for an interview on PTC Punjabi, on the programme First Look, and was also interviewed by Bobby Friction on the BBC Asian Network. Later, 922 released their first album on BeatFactory Music, titled We The Movement produced by Adx.

2012-13

Nau Sau Bai disbanded in early 2012 due to personal issues. In 2013, Adx released his first commercial production "Patiala On The Rocks" featuring GRV, and a dance track titled "Tenu Labda Fira" featuring Rigul Kalra. In Late 2013, "922 Anthem" was featured in Hollywood movie Gravity.[8]

2014

In 2014, "Dont Go Away" was released on Billionaire Music, Indeep Bakshi's Music Label, of "Saturday Saturday" fame. It featured Aman Khanna, and was produced by Adx.

2015

In 2015, Adx produced the hugely popular Haryanvi track "Badlaav", featuring the Haryanvi singing sensation SB-The Haryanvi. In mid- 2015, both Adx and SB released another smash hit, titled "Skirt Aali Ragni" in a Haryanvi Hip -Hop Avatar. Also in 2015, Adx participated in the worldwide collaboration titled "#HipHopIsHipHop",[9] a Hip Hop version of the charity single "We Are The World". It includes 14 rappers from 14 different countries, expressing their love for Hip Hop in their own languages and styles. All profits from the track are donated to UNICEF to fund children's education.
