Bhavin Turakhia (born 21 December 1979) is an Indian Entrepreneur, billionaire, CEO, and co-founder of Directi.[2][3][4][5][6][7] He is also the founder and CEO of Flock, Radix, CodeChef, and Ringo, as well as the co-founder of Media.net and Zeta.[8][9][10][11][12][13][14] In 2016, Bhavin was ranked as the 95th richest person in India, with a net worth of US$1.3 billion, along with his brother Divyank Turakhia, according to Forbes.[15][16][17] He has been honored as a 2011 Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum.[18][19][20]

Early life

Born in Mumbai, he did his schooling from Arya Vidya Mandir, Bandra.[15] He attended D.G. Ruparel College[21] to study science and later dropped out[22] and then completed his bachelor's degree in commerce from Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics.[23][24]

Career

In 1998 with a capital of ₹25,000[25][26] (US$375), Bhavin Turakhia at the age of 18, started his first tech venture Directi with his brother Divyank Turakhia.[2][10][27][28][29] The Directi Group of Companies, developed into a major force in India`s IT sector, expanding to cover sectors such as DNS-domain registrations with PDR Pty Ltd (PublicDomainRegister.com), BigRock, Radix[30], and known for staff and training facilities and programs such as Directiplex[31] and CodeChef.

In 2014, Bhavin and Divyank sold four of their web presence companies – BigRock, LogicBoxes, ResellerClub, and Webhosting.info – to Nasdaq-listed U.S.-based web-hosting firm Endurance International Group, for $160 million.[32][33]

In August 2016, Bhavin and Divyank Turakhia sold off their Dubai and New York-based ad-technology company Media.net, founded in 2010, to a Chinese Consortium for $900 million.[34][35] Mr. Zhiyong Zhang, who is the chairman of Beijing Miteno Communication Technology led the Consortium. Beijing Miteno Communication Technology is a technology, media and telecom company. This is the third largest ad-tech deal in history and amongst the largest bootstrapped cash exits worldwide.[36][37][38]

He currently operates Flock,[39][40][41] Ringo, Radix and Zeta.[42][43][44][45][46][47][48][49][50][51][52][9]
