Dion (Thessaly)

Coordinates: 38°51′03″N 22°52′23″E / 38.8509°N 22.8731°E / 38.8509; 22.8731 Dion (Δίον)[1] or Dia (Δῖα or Δία) was a town of Phthiotis in ancient Thessaly.[2] In 302 BCE, Cassander planned to transfer the town's population to nearby Phthiotic Thebes but this was prevented by Demetrius Poliorcetes.[3][2]

Its site has tentatively been located at a place called Lichas Kastri.[4][5]
