Dimitri Rassam (born November 16, 1981) is the son of actress Carole Bouquet and the late Jean-Pierre Rassam, a French Lebanese film producer. He has one half-brother, Louis, born in 1987 to his mother's relationship with the photographer Francis Giacobetti.[1]

Rassam was four years old when his father died from a drug overdose.[2][1]

Education

Rassam finished secondary school at École Active Bilingue with a Bac scientifique,[3] then prepped at Sciences Po.[3] He began work on a business degree at HEC Paris,[4] but changed course to earn a degree in history (from the Sorbonne)[3] instead.

Career

At the age of 23, he founded the production company "Chapter 2".[5] In 2014, "Chapter 2" merged with Alexis Vonarb's Onyx Films and Aton Soumache's Method Animation to form "ON Entertainment".[6][7][8] Method Animation is the parent company, with Soumache as CEO.[9]

Since 2008, Rassam is a film producer, most notably credited as producer for Trouble at Timpetill (his first credit); Daddy or Mommy (2015), and The Little Prince (2015). He is currently producing "Playmobil The Movie", due out in 2019.[2] He was also a producer of Le Prénom (2012)[10] and Escobar: Paradise Lost.[11] He continues to work with the most-acclaimed directors of the film animation industry, including Mark Osborne, director of Kung Fu Panda and The Little Prince.[12]

Filmography

Personal life

He married Masha Novoselova in 2010.[2] His daughter, Darya, was born in 2011. At the end of 2016, he was known to be separated from Novoselova[11] and to be dating Charlotte Casiraghi,[15] the daughter of Caroline, Princess of Hanover and niece of Albert II, Prince of Monaco. As of March 2018, it had been widely reported in credible media sources that Rassam and Casiraghi are formally engaged and would be married in the summer.[16] However, the summer came and went without a marriage; it was said in the same sources that Casiraghi's pregnancy had precipitated a postponement of any nuptials.[17]
