Dianne Yvonne Byrum (born March 18, 1954[1]) is a Democratic politician from the U.S. state of Michigan currently a trustee for the Michigan State University. She resides in Onondaga Township in Ingham County. She is now a partner with Byrum & Fisk Advocacy Communications, an East Lansing, Mich.-based public relations firm that she founded with Mark Fisk, the former Communications Director for the Michigan House Democratic Caucus.

Dianne Byrum first served as an Ingham County Board of Commissioner in the early 1980s. In 1991, she was elected to the state legilsature serving in the House of Representative and the Senate until 2006.[2]

Byrum was first elected to the Michigan State University board of trustees in 2008. She was reelected as trustee in 2016.[3] She was on the Board during the USA Gymnastics sex abuse scandal and was the second trustee calling for MSU President Lou Anna K. Simon to step down 5 days after a board statement of unanimous support for Simon.[4]
