Dhund (tribe)

Dhunds (also known as Dhund Abbasis) are found chiefly in the Murree, Rawalpindi, Abbottabad, Hazara in Pakistan and also in the Bagh and Muzaffarabad districts of Azad Kashmir.

Origin

They mainly speak Punjabi or Pahari dialects, as well as Hindko.[1] They claim that the word Dhund was an honorary name given to one of their forefathers.[2]
