Destroy the Children (also known as Destroy the Children: An Acoustic Exploration of Uneasy Topics) is the debut solo album by Electric Six frontman Dick Valentine, released on May 14, 2012.[1]

Background

Valentine has issued statements both on the official Electric Six website and through his promotional Facebook page.[1]

"Destroy The Children" is the first solo effort from Valentine and it is performed in the solo acoustic style. Some songs are whimsical, others apocalyptic. Still others are anemic. Some are weird. One of them is even performed in Spanish. "Destroy The Children" is the ultimate indulgence of a man who hates music, but loves himself. Physical copies of "Destroy The Children" will only be available to purchase at Valentine's acoustic shows, but the digital version will be available on Tunecore and iTunes in early May.

"I Don't Speak French" was originally intended as an Electric Six song to be included on their album I Shall Exterminate Everything Around Me That Restricts Me from Being the Master. A demo was recorded during the sessions for that album and was subsequently released on the band's compilation album Mimicry and Memories.[3]
