Desmond Napoles (born June 2007) is an LGBTQ advocate and a drag performer.[1][2] Napoles created the first drag club for children, titled Haus of Amazing.[3] Napoles drag name is Desmond is Amazing.[4][5][6]

Life

Desmond reports that he has been out since day one.[7]

Drag performances

Napoles' mother reports that Desmond began gravitating towards drag performances when he was two and watched RuPauls Drag Race.[8][9] Subsequently, at seven, Desmond danced in Jinkx Monsoon’s “The Bacon Shake” music video.[10] In 2015, a video of Desmond voguing at Pride went viral and in 2017, Desmond was invited to cut the pink ribbon with RuPaul for RuPaul’s DragCon.[11][12][13] Also in 2017, at Stonewall's One Year Memorial, Desmond read out the names of the Pulse shooting victims, and won the Marsha P. Jackson Award from Heritage of Pride.[2][14] In 2018, Desmond walked the runway at the Gypsy Sport show[15] for Fashion Week.[16][17] At NYFW Naples dressed as Maleficient’s raven.[18] Desmond has been named the youngest member of the Iconic House of UltraOmni.[16][19]
