Desmond Chen[1] is a Vancouver born and raised Canadian entrepreneur.[2][3]

Career

Chen began working in the restaurant business at the age of 13 in his father’s restaurant, Thai House on Robson Street in Vancouver. He opened his first restaurant, Urban Thai Bistro, in Yaletown in 1999 at the age of 24. In 2010, Chen opened Pink Elephant Thai on Alberni Street.[4][5] Today, Chen owns a total of five restaurants in Vancouver, North Vancouver and Richmond.[6] He employs a total of 130 people.[7][8] In 2013, he was named one of Vancity Buzz's "Men of Vancouver".[9]

Chen is also a co-executive producer of the viral reality web series, HBICtv: Ultra Rich Asian Girls.[10][11][12]

He is a co-executive producer for the viral reality web series, HBICtv: Ultra Rich Asian Girls.[13] Season 4 is currently under discussions with talks to co-produce in the US and distribute in Asia.[14][15] The show is produced under Veyron Media Inc. Desmond is also a co-producer for the upcoming film, Crypto.

In 2018, Desmond has been working on Unbanned: The Legend of AJ1 as a Co Executive Producer.[16][17]
