Derrick Brown (born April 15, 1998) is an American football defensive tackle who plays college football for the Auburn Tigers. In 2015, he concluded his high school football career at Lanier High School in Buford. He was ranked as the No. 9 recruit in college football's incoming Class of 2016.[1]

High school career

Brown played his whole high school career at Lanier High School. During his high school career, he had 33.5 sacks, 270 tackles, 5 forced fumbles and 3 interception's.

Recruiting

Brown was seen as the fourth best Defensive tackle in the 2016 recruiting class. Brown considered multiple schools during his recruitment, with Georgia, Auburn and Alabama being seen as the favorites to land him. On national signing day, Brown committed to Auburn.[2]

    College career

    2016

    In Brown's freshman season he was part of the rotation. He recorded 11 total tackles, 1.0 sack, and 1 fumble recovery. He played in all 13 games but started in none of them.[3]

    2017

    In 2017 Brown started in all 12 games and made an immediate impact as a full-time starter. Brown recorded 49 total tackles, 3.5 sacks, 8.5 tackles for a loss and 2 forced fumbles.[3]
