Derek Couture (born April 24, 1984) is a Canadian professional ice hockey forward who is currently an unrestricted free agent. He most recently captained the Ontario Reign of the ECHL.
Couture played four seasons (2000-2005) of major junior hockey in the Western Hockey League with the Saskatoon Blades. Undrafted, he turned professional with the 2005–06 season which he played in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights.[1]
Retired from hockey in 2013, Derek now resides in Calgary, Ab where he works as a Real Estate associate for the premier Charles Real Estate group.
