Department of Immigration & Passport is the government organ responsible for passports, immigration, and migration in Bangladesh and is located in Dhaka, Bangladesh.[1][2] The department is headed by Director General of Department of Immigration and Passports Brigadier General Masud Rezwan.[3] The headquarters are located in Agargaon Passport office.
History
The department was established in 1973 by the government of Bangladesh after the Bangladesh Liberation war in 1971.[4] In 2017 the department started making a bio-metric list of Rohingya Refugees in Bangladesh.[5]
