Denise Bucumi Nkurunziza (born ?) is a Burundian minister and First Lady of Burundi since 2005. She is the only ordained minister currently serving as a first lady of any African nation.[1] Her official title is "Her Excellency Reverend Pastor Denise Nkurunziza."[1]
Nkurunziza is a born-again Christian, as is her husband, longtime President Pierre Nkurunziza.[1] The couple married in 1994 and have five children: three boys and two girls.[2]
