Denis from the kindred Tomaj (Hungarian: Tomaj nembeli Dénes; died 11 April 1241) was Palatine of Hungary under King Béla IV from year 1235 to 1241, until his death at the Battle of Mohi.[1][2] In addition to Palatine, Tomaj held the titles of Ban of Croatia and Vajda of Transylvania.
After his death, his issue were granted estates in Transylvania, and subsequently adopted the name "Bánffy" (son of the ban).[3]
