Delias hypomelas is a butterfly in the family Pieridae. It was described by Walter Rothschild and Karl Jordan in 1907. It is endemic to New Guinea.[2]

The wingspan is about 60–64 mm. Males are creamy-white with a broad black distal area on the forewings and a narrow black margin on the hindwings. The black area on the forewings reaches the discocellulars. The hindwings have the costa yellow at the base, forming a well-defined rounded spot. There is a white submarginal line, broken at the veins, from vein 7 to 2 or just below it, as well as a black discal patch, just entering the end of the cell, usually lying between veins 3 and 5 or 6. Females have orange subapical dots on the upper surface of the forewings and traces of two more, and the proximal area on both wings is white.[3]
