Del Staigers

Charles Delaware Staigers was an American cornetist. He was born in Muncie, Indiana.[1] In 1919, he played as a soloist with John Philip Sousa's band.[1] In 1926, he joined the Goldman Band and played with them through 1934.[1][2]

He died on July 12, 1950, at age 52 of a heart condition.[1] In the words of Edwin Franko Goldman, Staigers was the "greatest cornetist in the world".[3]
