Deependra Singh Shekhawat is a senior leader of the Indian National Congress in the state of Rajasthan and has been the former Speaker of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly since 2 January 2009-2014

He was born on 20 June 1951 in Jodhpur to Shri Bharat Singh Shekhawat. He was MLA from Srimadhopur (Sikar). He has been a member of the 7th, 10th, 11th, 13th Rajasthan Legislative Assembly. He was the state minister with independent charge during 1998-2003, in Ashok Gehlot's Government.
