Deep Instinct is a cybersecurity company that applies deep learning to cybersecurity. The company implements advanced Artificial Intelligence to the task of preventing and detecting malware.[1][2][3][4][5][6]

Overview

Deep Instinct was founded in the year 2014 by Guy Caspi, Dr. Eli David, and Nadav Maman. The headquarters of the company is located in New York City. This solution is designed to protect an organization’s endpoints, mobile devices and servers against known and unknown malware attacks in real-time.[4][7][2] It is said to prevent and detect cyber attacks on all kind of operating systems. In July 2017, the company has raised $32 million in a Series B financing round.[8][9]

Technology

Deep Instinct is the first company to apply deep learning to cybersecurity. By using a proprietary deep learning framework, Deep Instinct offers real-time threat prevention against any known or unknown threat, from any file or fileless attack. Deep Instinct protection can be applied to any type of device, server and network.

Deep learning is inspired by the brain’s ability to learn. Once a brain learns to identify an object, its identification becomes second nature. Similarly, as Deep Instinct’s artificial neural network brain learns to detect any type of cyber threat, its prediction capabilities become instinctive. As a result, any kind of malware, known and new, first-seen malware, zero-days, ransomware and APT attacks are predicted and prevented in real-time with unmatched accuracy.

To run non-graphics software on graphic chips, the software runs on the combination of Central Processing Units (CPU) and Graphics Processing Units (GPU), and NVIDIA’s CUDA software.[10][11]

Awards and recognition

In 2016, Deep Instinct was named as the “Most Innovative Startup” at the Black Hat IT Security Conference.[12]

It was also named as the “Most Disruptive” AI startup by the US chip maker NVIDIA during 2017 Inception Awards.  In the same year, World Economic Forum recognized them as “Technology Pioneer.”[8][3][13]

In 2016 Deep Instinct was named "Cool Vendor for Workplace Security" by Gartner.

In 2017 awarded as "Technology Pioneer" by The World Economic Forum

In 2018 awarded the best of show award by Interop Tokyo.

In 2018 awarded the Infosec award for "Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning" by Cyber Defense magazine.

In 2018 awarded the Fortress Cybersecurity Award in the category of "software and apps".

2019 TAG Cyber Security distinguished vendor.
