Deborah S. Cummins

Deborah S. Cummins, Ph.D. is an American bioethicist. She is the director of research and scientific affairs at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.[1]

She has been a voting member of the U.S. Medicare Coverage Advisory Committee, and was a member of adjunct faculty in the Medical Humanities Program, Department of Medical Education, University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago. Previously, she was the Associate Director of the Ethical Force Program at the American Medical Association and Senior Program Manager at the National Patient Safety Foundation.
