Debi (Bengali: দেবী, English: Goddess) is a 2018 Bangladeshi film. The film is based on the novel same named and written by Humayun Ahmed. It is directed by Anam Biswas, starring Chanchal Chowdhury as the lead role Misir Ali and Jaya Ahsan as Ranu. The film is produced by Jaya Ahsan, as her first production from her production house 'C for Cinema'.[3] The film is scheduled to release on 19th October 2018.[4]

Debi completed photography 2017 wrapped in secrecy, and not much has been known about it since. It is created from novel of same name written by Humayun Ahmed. Debi, the first novel that began the iconic series about the genius psychologist, was taken up by Jaya Ahsan as producer for her C for Cinema production house, with Anam Biswas at its helm and Chanchal Chowdhury set to play the beloved character Misir Ali.[5] The film also picked up the National Film Grant.[6]

On April 11, 2018 the first look poster released.[7] Before that Humayun's Daughter Shila said that the film didn't take permission of them to shoot.[8] On April 17, Humayun Ahmed's son Nuhash Humayun confirmed that Jaya Ahsan took permission from his family for the rights of this movie.[9]

On April 15, 2018 the first teaser of the movie released.[10]
