Deante Burton (born July 12, 1994) is an American football cornerback for the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League (NFL).[1] He played college football at Kansas State.[2] He signed with the Atlanta Falcons as a undrafted free agent in 2017.[3]
Professional career
Atlanta Falcons
Burton signed with the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent on May 1, 2017.[4] He was waived by the Falcons on September 2, 2017, but was signed to the their practice squad the next day.[5] [6] He signed a reserve/future contract with the Falcons on January 15, 2018.[7] He made the position switch from wide receiver to cornerback while on the practice squad in the 2017 season. On September 1, 2018, Burton was waived by the Falcons and was signed to the practice squad the next day.[8][9] He was promoted to the active roster on September 4, 2018.[10] He was waived on September 10, 2018.[11]
Green Bay Packers
On September 11, 2018, Burton was claimed off waivers by the Green Bay Packers.[12] He was waived on September 19, 2018.[13]
Atlanta Falcons (second stint)
On September 25, 2018, Burton was signed to the Atlanta Falcons' practice squad.[14]
