Davika Hoorne (Thai: ดาวิกา โฮร์เน่, born May 16, 1992), also known as Mai Davika (Thai: ใหม่ ดาวิกา), is a Thai actress and model of Thai and Belgian descent. She made an acting debut on 2010 in television series Ngao Kammathep as the lead role. She rose to fame from her films; Heart Attack with Sunny Suwanmethanon and Suddenly Twenty. She is the female lead star of Thailand's highest grossing film of all time, Pee Mak alongside Mario Maurer. She has collaborated with Korean singer Ali in a music video entitled No Way under Genie Music.
As of now, she has been dubbed as the "Queen of Presenters"[1] and the Fan Bingbing of Thailand. She is also one of the most sought out actresses and a cult favorite amongst makeup artists, stylist, magazine companies, local and international advertisements. She is a spokesperson for famous brand, L'Oreal. She also joined Michael Kors in New York Fashion Week 2017[2] and Dolce & Gabbana in Milan Fashion Week 2018[3].
Early life
Davikah was born on May 16, 1992, in Bangkok, Thailand. She attended Phraharuthai Donmuang School and Kevalee International School during her primary and secondary school years. She graduated from Rangsit University, major in Communication Arts.
Career
She made an acting debut on 2010 in television series Ngao Kammathep as the lead role. She rose to fame on 2012 for her role in television series Tawan Tor Saeng and became best known for her leading role in the horror comedy blockbuster Kularb Rai Kong Naai Tawan. In 2013, she has been the female lead star of Thailand's highest grossing film of all time, Pee Mak alongside Mario Maurer.
Before debuting, she was a commercial model. She entered modeling industry at the age of 14 through filming various commercials. However, she caught the attention of Helen, the assistant of her former manager, Supachai Srivijit. Through the help of her former manager, she earned herself a contract with Channel 7 and debuted in her first television series Ngao Kammathep. In 2016, Mai started to become a freelance actress. Her current manager is Klao Nampraw.
She received an award alongside Mario Maurer in the 2016 Asia Model Awards held in Korea. She is also an ambassador of UNICEF.
