David J. Webb, FRCP, FRSE, FMedSci (born 1953) is a British clinical pharmacologist.

Web studied as a cardiovascular physician and clinical pharmacologist at St George's Hospital and Medical School, [1]

He was made the Christison chair of therapeutics and clinical pharmacology at the University of Edinburgh in 1995, and from 1998 to 2001 he was head of the department of medical sciences there.[1]

He led the Wellcome Trust Cardiovascular Research Initiative from 1998–2001, and the Centre for Cardiovascular Science from 2000 to 2004.[1]

He served as clinical vice-president of the British Pharmacological Society from 1996 to 1998; chair of the Royal College of Physicians' Committee on Clinical Pharmacology during 1998 and 1989); and chair of the British Pharmacological Society's committee of heads and professors of clinical pharmacology from 2004 to 2007).[1]

Be became vice-president of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 2006.[1]

He has provided evidence to the United Kingdom parliament's select committee on patient safety.[2]

He has been elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians,[1] a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences,[3] and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh.[4]
