David Lacy-Scott

David Geffrey Lacy-Scott (born 18 August 1920) was an English cricketer.

Born in Calcutta, Lacy-Scott was educated at Marlborough College and Cambridge University. He served in the British Indian Army during the Second World War, receiving an emergency commission in to the Royal Indian Army Service Corps on 27 October 1941.[1] He relinquished his commission on account of ill-health, 22 December 1945, and was granted the honorary rank of Captain.[2]

Lacy-Scott made ten first-class cricket appearances for Cambridge University Cricket Club, almost all of which came in the 1946 English cricket season.[3] His performances for the University side attracted the attention of Kent County Cricket Club, who invited him to play in their County Championship fixture against Sussex in August 1946.[4] He had previously played in two Minor Counties Championship matches for Kent's second eleven in 1938 and 1939.[5]

He finished his first-class career with 294 runs, while his fast-medium bowling took nine wickets in all.[6]

He now resides in rural Suffolk.
