David Kosse

David Kosse is a media executive. Since April 2016 he has been head of the international division of STX Entertainment.[1] He was previously director of Film4, from November 2014. Before that he was president of Universal Pictures International in London.[2] He is best known for developing and co-financing recent Oscar fare such as Room and Ex Machina.[3]

Film4

Kosse in November 2014, joined Film4 as director of its feature film division.[4] During his time in the role, Film4 enjoyed its most successful awards season, with a record 15 Oscar nominations in 2015 which included the likes of Carol, Room, Ex Machina, 45 Years, Youth and Amy.[5]

Film4 Departure and Legacy

After only being director at Film4 for less than two years, Kosse decided to leave the company and join STX Entertainment as president of its international arm based in London.[6]

STXinternational

From June 2016, Kosse took over as President of STXinternational in which he has overseen international strategy for the marketing and direct theatrical and multi-platform distribution of STX films worldwide.[7]

Beginning its film slate, STXinternational under the leadership of Kosse has acquired UK rights for titles such as Breathe, directed by Andy Serkis and starring Andrew Garfield and Claire Foy; Home Again starring Reese Witherspoon and Wind River starring Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen.[8]
