David Eric Doster (born October 8, 1970 in Fort Wayne, Indiana) is a retired Major League Baseball second baseman. He played baseball at New Haven High School and Indiana State University.[1] He played during two seasons at the major league level for the Philadelphia Phillies. He was drafted by the Phillies in the 27th round of the 1993 amateur draft. Doster played his first professional season with their Class A Spartanburg Phillies in 1993, and his last season with the Arizona Diamondbacks' Triple-A team, the Tucson Sidewinders, in 2005. He also played one season in Japan with the Yokohama BayStars in 2001.
Doster had very good MiLB career; he won a AA title with the Reading Phillies in 1995, he was an International League All-Star in 2002 and currently ranks 2nd on the Pacific Coast League's 'Consecutive Games with a Hit' (32 games), he trails only Joe DiMaggio.[2]
Doster is still currently involved in baseball. He is teaching lessons at Strike Zone Training Center in Fort Wayne. Dave is also a color commentary broadcaster for the Fort Wayne Tincaps.[3]
